Christmas Gift Ideas | For Her

 

So many lovely things... must resist. With Christmas fast approaching it's time to start buying gifts -if you haven't already - so I thought I'd do a series of gift ideas to hopefully give you and I some inspiration to start buying (even if it's for ourselves). Christmas is a great time to get great gift sets like the Origins Superstar Mini Skincare Gift Set (1) in the set you get 7 miniatures of some of Origins best sellers. Another great gift set is the LUSH Best Wishes (4) it's filled with 3 Christmas bath bombs and a Christmas bubble bar. Jewellery makes a gorgeous gift and this watch from Olivia Burton (3) is beautiful the black leather strap and large gold dial is a classic combination that will always be in fashion. Marks and Spencer has some stunning lingerie sets including the Beau Silk Set (2) the set is available in 5 different colours with two styles available in the pants, the only down side to this set is that it only goes up to a DD.

 

Marks and Spencers also has some lovely dressing gowns in that would make a great gift, I love this one pictured above (5) because it's cosy but also glamorous looking. If you've got a beauty guru in your life the Zoeva Classic Brush Set (6) would be a brilliant gift, the set contains 8 make up brushes and a pouch to keep them in. The Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette (7) is packed with 12 stunning eye shadow shades perfect for creating many smoky eye looks, any beauty lover would appreciate this palette. Lastly Skinnydip London (8) do lots of amazing phone cases and who doesn't love a sassy phone case! From mermaids and unicorns to glitter and pizza Skinnydip has a case for any fun loving girl. I'd happily see any of these under my tree this year!

Christmas Jumpers

 

It's December the first so lets get right to it and start the month as we go on, with Christmas jumpers! There is so many Christmas jumpers out there, cute ones, quirky ones, cool ones and tacky ones there's something for everyone at every price range. Boohoo has a great range of affordable Christmas jumpers this year including this 'Merry Christmas Ya Filthy Animal' one for the Home Alone lovers and this 'Santa I Know Him' jumper for Elf lovers, not a fan off Christmas movie quotes then this Christmas Tree jumper is awesome too! What's great about these jumpers from Boohoo is that they come in a range of different colours and are only £15.

I've got my eye on this jumper from F+F at Tesco it's only £12, I think it's fun but not tacky looking and it looks much more expensive that £12 - it's even got sequins for that added Christmas sparkle. Looking for something a bit more subtle then this cropped 'Naughty or Nice' jumper from Missguided would do the trick, or this sparkly gingerbread jumper from Next isn't ott either. Lastly are some Christmas jumpers from New Look if you want a full on bright Christmas fairisle jumper then this one will do the job it got reindeer, Christmas puddings and penguins. Last but not least is this super cute penguin jumper from New Look it has penguins dressed as Christmas characters.

August Favourites

Happy last day of August! I've had a really nice month spending nearly a week with some family members I don't see that often, I've had my fair share of cocktails and some nice nights just hanging out with friends. I've been to the cinema a few times this month I went to see Inside Out and loved it I properly laughed out loud at parts and cried a few times it's such a good movie and I'd recommend it to everyone, it's a great way to teach people about mental health and emotions. I also saw Train Wreck and Paper Towns both were okay and I also saw Man From Uncle this month and that was good! I spent the past weekend in Glasgow with some friends, we went to see Paolo Nutini play Bellahouston Park as part of Glasgow Summer Session, keep an eye out on my blog to see my post on it later this week. I love my new boots from Primark that I got at the start of the month and I've barley had them off and for once they aren't black! I got myself some new boots recently and for once they aren't black, I got these boots from Primark at the start of the month and I've barley had them off. They are a hard colour to describe they are khaki/greige if that is such a thing? they have a mid-heal and are super comfy. They cost £18 which some people might think are a bit pricey for Primark but I thought that was reasonable as boots like this would be more expensive in any other high street store, they also come in black so I might have to go back for them.



I can't believe I'm talking about hangers on my blog, I'm mentioning clothes hangers in my monthly favourites is this a bit sad? Am I a grown up now? (No and no BTW) I bloody love these hangers from Primark for £3.80 you can pick up a 10 pack of nonslip velvet hangers, there is a range of colours to choose from but I like the black best. I love these hangers because they are so thin and not bulky in the slightest so they don't take up much room plus they are non-slip your clothes will stay put. I also picked up an accessories hanger from Primark for £1.50, it's a handy thing to have as you can use it for anything like belts, jewellery and bags.

I've been using my Real Techniques Sculpting Brushes pretty much daily this month, the fan brush is perfect for apply highlighter on my cheekbones, the sculpting brush makes contouring really easy as it buffs the powder in really well. I love the setting brush for blending and setting concealer it gives a great finish, the set is defiantly worth the £20.99 price tag.

 

First hangers now shampoo and conditioner... I use to love TRESemme 24 Hour Body Shampoo and Conditioner, I wouldn't use anything else but for some reason I stopped buying it. I hadn't used it in a long time when I spotted the 750ml bottles on offer for only £2.47 each in Superdrug so I decided to pick up a bottle of each and since using it I've fallen back in love with it - I've even went back and stopped up on them! This shampoo and conditioner leaves my hair with volume and bounce without feeling heavy or weighed down, I really love this shampoo and conditioner.

 

 

 

I've been using my B. Makeup Brush Cleanser £4.99 a lot this month, I keep it on my bedside table and it comes in so handy for freshening up my makeup brushes between washes. ASOS Premier

If you're an avid online shopper and a fan of ASOS you've probably already got ASOS Premier or at least heard of it. If you haven't let me fill you in ASOS Premier is a VIP service that offers you free unlimited next day delivery for a year, 10 free ASOS magazines (if you're a female customer), free returns, early access to sales and exclusive sales all for only £9.95. I think it's a great deal as next day delivery for one order is £5.95 so for only £4 more you're getting free next day delivery for a whole year. This service will come in handy for any order you place as you know you're going to get it the next day if you order before 10pm on a weekday and before 5pm at the weekends, it will come in especially handy for when you leave buying to the last minute for an outfit or present and just think about Christmas time, I'm getting excited just at the thought.

I bought ASOS Premier and have been really impressed with the fast service, I got my confirmation order within minutes of placing my order and I got constant updates on my delivery and even got a one hour window of when my order would arrive. As well as getting a delivery one hour window I also got the opportunity to leave it with my choice of neighbour or pick another date if the option I have wasn't suitable. I did have a tiny issues to begin with where my order email said my order would be delivered 3 days later than it should but a few quick tweets to the very helpful ASOS Twitter help team and they assured me my order would arrive the next day, and it did.

When it comes to returning your unwanted items for a refund or an exchange the process is simple you fill in the refund paperwork that you get with your order, reseal the package and label up your order with the supplied label. You also have an option of 6 different couriers to return your order; Royal Mail, Collect+, Hermes, In Post, My Returns and Doodle. I used Royal Mail for my returns and had no issues, returns can take up to 7 working days to be processed. The only moan I have about the return process is that I didn't get an email to let me know that ASOS had received my item for return or that they had refunded my account but again the here to help Twitter team couldn't be more helpful.

Festival Fashion Inspiration

Following on from yesterday's post where I shared my top 20 festival tips with you today I thought I'd share with you some festival fashion inspiration. Outfits for festivals should be practical, comfy and make you feel confident there's no point in wearing something that you feel uncomfortable in or that you have to constantly sort - ain't nobody got time for that! I've been looking online and in stores for festival inspiration and thought I'd share it with you. (all items are linked and the photos are taken from the stated website)

This clear mac is super cool and quirky I've been thinking about getting one for a while now what do you think? I think they'll be nice for a festival because it will keep you dry and your outfit will still be on show plus it's got a hood and pockets. The only problem with jackets like these are that some of them make a horrible noise when it rubs together, this only is only £22.99 from New Look so wont break the bank. I really like these black ombre mom shorts from ASOS I actually ordered them last month so I had them for festival season, they have a little turn up and are high waisted which I love, I think they'll look really nice with a top tucked in like this striped cami from ASOS. When it comes to festivals footwear has to be practical and comfy for me and I love my Dr Martens I'd recommended them to anyone who goes to a lot of festivals. I would pair this outfit with a choker and a backpack so I had somewhere to store all my essentials and the mac when the weather was nice, I think this would be a cute outfit for any festival.

This outfit is a one stop shop everything is from New Look, the bag would hang nicely over the shoulder or across your body, it's great size for everything you need without the temptation to over pack and you can draw the bag in to stop people getting their hand in when your in the crowd. The high leg wellies would be great for a rainy day because with rain comes mud and the sunglasses would protect your eyes whatever the weather. Now on to the bulk of the outfit the shorts have a really nice tile flower print with a drawstring waist and tassels and the black cami would look nice oversized and slouchy tucked into the shorts, paired with the long line crochet fringed waistcoat would give the outfit a festival feel plus it's lightweight for when it's warm and you can layer it up with the denim jacket (again I'd wear it oversized) when it gets cooler in the evening.

Who says festivals need to be all about prints? This simple monochrome outfit is gorgeous I love the top from Topshop it's part of Kendall and Kylie range for Topshop and I think the wrap over, gypsy style and lightweight fabric is great for a festival teamed with distressed black denim shorts, a pair of Dr Martens, a cute fringed tassel bag from New Look that can double up as a backpack and an across body bag then complete the look with a leather jacket for the cooler nights. Just remember to pack a waterproof mac and your all set. I really really love this outfit *heart eye emoji*

I love oversized denim jackets like this one from ASOS they might cool cover ups for festivals, you can usually pick up jackets like this at the stalls at the festival if your feeling spendy! This printed dress comes complete with pockets making it great for a festivals pair it with these calf length wellies to keep the mud at bay (they are only £17.99) and this cool quirky silver backpack from New Look. I have this backpack you might remember seeing it on my blog at the start at the month, I bought it for festivals as I love the structured shape and it's actually rather roomy.

OOTN | The Primark Dress

You know what's it's like with Primark sometimes you go in and it's filled with lots of nice things other times you can endlessly search and find nothing. This time however I found this gem of a dress that someone had left hanging on the end of a rail luckily it wasn't in size and I wandered round the shop with it in my arms, I liked it and I couldn't put my infer on why as it's not my usual style.

The dress has a gorgeous graphic flower print and is a mix of navy, black and white. The neckline is racer cut which means one thing a strapless bra which is a bit daunting for me as I'm rather busty but actually I was surprised how supported I felt in the dress, credit to the bra but also a little bit to the dress as the fit is so nice. The quality is great for £13 it feels and looks much more expensive, my friends actually thought it was from River Island. I wore this for my friend Ruths birthday night out but this dress could also work for a wedding, the length is a good length not too long but not so short that your scared to move encase you flash something! Unfortunately the print of the dress doesn't photograph as gorgeous as it actually is which is a shame.

So I think I've raved about this dress enough for someone who at first wasn't sure of it. I'm so glad I bought it and thank you to the person who dumped it at the end of a rail!

These photos were taken very early on a rainy April morning and one way to combat the rainy morning blues? Chuck on the brightest coat you have. I bought this coat last winter from Marks and Spencer and I think it was £60 but I got it £48 on a 20% off event. I instantly loved the coat the minute I saw it, I loved the bright yellow colour and the collarless detail but was a little bit intimidated by it because it's not exactly subtle is it!

 

I teamed it up with a fairly simple black and stripe outfit now I think about it it's got a hint of a bumblebee about it. There are two bargains about this outfit the first one is the boots I picked these up from New Look at the start of the month for just £7 I like the half zip detail and the heel is a great high for everyday. The second bargain is the ring that I got from New Look for £1.99 its gorgeous, I love the teardrop shape, it's a great fit for the top of my finger and sits comfortably all day.

You know what its like outside is bright and looking spring like so you dress for a spring day get two minuets out the door and its bloody freezing well that's what happens to me and that's exactly what happened this day. I wore this a week or so back when I went out for breakfast with my sister (thanks for taking the photos sis) we went to Frankie and Bennys and for once I didn't have pancakes instead I had the lighter breakfast and it was delicious.

When I got up in the morning it looked like such a lovely spring day so I decided to wear my mint green coat from George at Asda, I picked it up at the start of the year as I really liked the style it's collarless and a nice weight not heavy but not overly light. I paired it with my ripped Jamie jeans from Topshop and an old laser cut top from Primark that I love. I kept the accessories simple with just a gold circle necklace from Primark it was only £1.50 and I really like it, my bag is from H&M I love the shape of it and I like that its huge but structured it keeps all my things secure without my bag looking overly full and lumpy. The boots are from New Look and have not been off my feet since I got them from my birthday last October the heel is the perfect day size and they are super comfy.

Bargain Buys

 

Over the last two weeks I've picked myself up a few bargains and I thought I'd share them on me blog. Everything in this post was £10 or under.

 eBay makeup brushes I wanted to buy some new makeup brushes but didn't want to spend a fortune on them because let's face it some make up brushes can be pretty expensive. These ones from eBay cost £6.85 and free delivery, bargain! You get 10 brushes in total 5 face brushes and 5 eye brushes so it comes in at around 68p a brush.  

Dorothy Perkins Bag this leopard print lovely was £5 and an absolute steal. It's smaller than what I usually go for in a bag but I couldn't resist. I love the black with the leopard print and the long strap it was originally £12 but I got it in the sale and it was the last one in the shop. The girl who served me had to do a double take when it scanned at £5. I can't wait to use it I just need to learn to pack light.

Primark (p)leather jacket ugh isn't this jacket great, I'd been on the look out for a belted leather jacket for ages after I saw Matt Healey from The 1975 sporting one at a festival last year. Since I own a lot of leather jackets I couldn't bring myself to spend a lot of money on one but then I saw this one in Primark reduced down to £10 from £25 and I had  to have it. I love the look of this jacket it looks a bit biker/rock chick-esk and it's such a good weight it's kind of heavy so it doesn't feel cheap in the slightest. It's exactly what I've been looking for and for £10 you can't do wrong, thanks Primark!
 

My nails aren't looking their best just now they keep breaking and need some TLC so I decided to buy some false nails. In the likes of Boots and Superdrug fake nails cost almost £10 for 24 nails but on eBay I got 600 stiletto fake nails for £5.49 and free delivery (yes really, 600) the only catch is they don't come with nail glue but that's nothing to grumble about I went for natural ones so I could paint them myself and I'm really impressed with these nails the quality is great I was a bit dubious thinking the might be cheap but they really look like salon quality once their on. The stiletto point is sharp but they file like a dream so you can get the shape you want.
