Christmas Wrapping

The other day I lit some Christmas candles, popped on a Christmas jumper, put on Elf and started to wrap my Christmas presents, I got through half the presents before running out of sellotape - note to self always buy sellotape when you buy your wrapping paper. This year I bought most of my wrapping accessories from ASDA, the paper was only £2 for 5 meters and was also on 3 for 2! They had lots of gorgeous wrapping accessories and gift bags this year, I bought this cute merry Christmas holly print paper and matching tags. I also bought some ribbon from Clintons and this handy gift wrap accessory pack from Paperchase , in the set you get 12 large bows, 12 small bows, 15 gift tags, 6 spools (60 meters) of curling ribbon, 10 jingle bells and a pack of star confetti now all I need is some more sellotape and I can get to wrapping.

Edinburgh at Chistmas

Edinburgh knows how to to Christmas! With the German Market and Winter Wonderland filling up the Princes Street Gardens and the stunning Dome on George Street the city screams Christmas. I've been to Edinburgh at Christmas time a lot over the last few years and I'm always blown away by how festive it is, I love the German market especially the food stalls! On Sunday just past my mum, sister and I braved a super busy Edinburgh for a Christmas Day out and some Christmas shopping, we started out by walking around winter wonderland and browsing the stalls before stopping for delicious cheese pretzel.

After buying some cheese and other bits and bobs we grabbed a burger at the market and then we headed up Princes Street for some serious shopping and spent most of the afternoon in and out of shops and fitting rooms before we stopped for a much needed Costa. After being in the shops for ages it soon turned dark and we took a walk up to the dome to see the gorgeous Christmas lights. Our trip to Edinburgh made me feel really festive and I love looking at all the photos I took. I hope your in the Christmas spirit!

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

The tree is up YAY! I bloody love Christmas trees, I love the lights and all the baubles. My mums pretty keen on putting the tree up just 12 days before Christmas but over the years we've worn her down and it's getting earlier and earlier each year. I spent yesterday afternoon putting up and decorating our tree, we went for a red and gold theme with lots of lights. Mixed in with the red and gold baubles we mixed in lots of personal baubles like the dove my sister and I got from St Pauls Cathedral when we visited London a few years ago, the silver star my nana gave me as a little girl that has gone on every year since and personalised stockings with the whole families name on them - I won't bore you by telling you about all the personal ones. We finished the tree by putting some candy canes on it, I wonder how long they'll last! I'm so happy with our tree it makes the house feel more Christmassy but the person who might just love it more than me is the cats, especially Soxs who you'll find nestled underneath it.

A Christmas Netflix Night In

Awful post name I know but I couldn't come up with anything better so you've probably guessed what this post is all about from the title- yup it's all about the Christmas films on Netflix! If your looking for something to watch to get yourself in the Christmas spirit but can't be bothered to look out your Christmas DVDs then have a look on Netflix you might be surprised by what you find.

My all time favourite Christmas film The Santa Clause featuring Tim Allen is guaranteed to get me in the Christmas spirit but if that's not for you then you can also find Home Alone and Home Alone 2 Lost in New York on Netflix that you can binge watch back to back. If your looking for a heart warming classic why not watch It's A Wonderful Life and if your after a cheesy 90s classic then pop on Jingle All The Way. If you want something kid friendly then theirs a few Disney Christmas Films including Mickeys Once Upon A Christmas and Mickey Magical Christmas: Snowed In at the House of Mouse. There's also An All Dogs Christmas Carol that kids will love, I remember watching this a lot as a kid with my sister and we loved it. Netflix also has the 2009 animation of the classic Christmas story A Christmas Carol. Surely one or more of these films will soon have you feeling festive, what's your favourite Christmas film? Now if Netflix could add The Grinch next that would be great!

Christmas Gift Ideas | For Him

Following on from yesterdays Christmas gift ideas for her yesterday it's time for the boys, now I'm rubbish at picking gifts for men as I don't have many in myself in fact I have a whole two men I buy for me Dad and my Papa. Anyway I scouted around the internet and picked out a few things that I think make nice gifts.

1 I think this hipflask and shot glass set is a fun gift for the man in your life who likes to party or goes to festivals etc. It's a fun quirky gift that isn't too expensive at only £12 from ASOS.

2 Belts are a safe bet a Christmas and there not as boring as socks, belts always come in handy and this one by Ted Baker is great because it's reversible. One side is black and one side is brown so it's actually two presents in one.

3 A wallet might seem like another boring gift but when you give someone a nice wallet like this it's a lovely gift to receive. This wallet by Ralph Lauren comes with a coin pocket and has an ample amount of card spaces, it is slightly pricey at £69 but it is real leather!

4 Most men want to be James Bond at least once in their life and this collection on 23 films are a great for any Bond lover. The set includes all the Bond film up to Skyfall plus leaves a space for Spectre when it comes out. Also when your stuffed over the Christmas/New Year period you can be a couch potato and binge watch these, it'll even come in handy for hung over/lazy days too.

5 Why not buy the man in your life his favourite aftershave, aftershave can be pricey and some people don't often treat themselves to it so do your research and pick up their favourite scent.

6 This watch and Cufflink set by Hugo Boss is £150 and would be a lovely gift for any man, it comes in a gift box that you can keep it stored in to keep it safe. The watch is water resistant with a leather strap and the cufflinks are silver-tone.

7 Men need skincare too and lots of men especially the older generation are reluctant to get into skincare and grooming. This Elemis Duo Set comes with a cleanser and body wash as well as a travel bag perfect for a man on the move.

8 These tuck shop sweets are a blast from the past with refresher bars, drumstick lollies, strawberry millions and more. Who doesn't love pigging out at Christmas so why not do it in style.

Christmas Gift Ideas | For Her

So many lovely things... must resist. With Christmas fast approaching it's time to start buying gifts -if you haven't already - so I thought I'd do a series of gift ideas to hopefully give you and I some inspiration to start buying (even if it's for ourselves). Christmas is a great time to get great gift sets like the Origins Superstar Mini Skincare Gift Set (1) in the set you get 7 miniatures of some of Origins best sellers. Another great gift set is the LUSH Best Wishes (4) it's filled with 3 Christmas bath bombs and a Christmas bubble bar. Jewellery makes a gorgeous gift and this watch from Olivia Burton (3) is beautiful the black leather strap and large gold dial is a classic combination that will always be in fashion. Marks and Spencer has some stunning lingerie sets including the Beau Silk Set (2) the set is available in 5 different colours with two styles available in the pants, the only down side to this set is that it only goes up to a DD.

Marks and Spencers also has some lovely dressing gowns in that would make a great gift, I love this one pictured above (5) because it's cosy but also glamorous looking. If you've got a beauty guru in your life the Zoeva Classic Brush Set (6) would be a brilliant gift, the set contains 8 make up brushes and a pouch to keep them in. The Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette (7) is packed with 12 stunning eye shadow shades perfect for creating many smoky eye looks, any beauty lover would appreciate this palette. Lastly Skinnydip London (8) do lots of amazing phone cases and who doesn't love a sassy phone case! From mermaids and unicorns to glitter and pizza Skinnydip has a case for any fun loving girl. I'd happily see any of these under my tree this year!

Christmas Jumpers

It's December the first so lets get right to it and start the month as we go on, with Christmas jumpers! There is so many Christmas jumpers out there, cute ones, quirky ones, cool ones and tacky ones there's something for everyone at every price range. Boohoo has a great range of affordable Christmas jumpers this year including this 'Merry Christmas Ya Filthy Animal' one for the Home Alone lovers and this 'Santa I Know Him' jumper for Elf lovers, not a fan off Christmas movie quotes then this Christmas Tree jumper is awesome too! What's great about these jumpers from Boohoo is that they come in a range of different colours and are only £15.

I've got my eye on this jumper from F+F at Tesco it's only £12, I think it's fun but not tacky looking and it looks much more expensive that £12 - it's even got sequins for that added Christmas sparkle. Looking for something a bit more subtle then this cropped 'Naughty or Nice' jumper from Missguided would do the trick, or this sparkly gingerbread jumper from Next isn't ott either. Lastly are some Christmas jumpers from New Look if you want a full on bright Christmas fairisle jumper then this one will do the job it got reindeer, Christmas puddings and penguins. Last but not least is this super cute penguin jumper from New Look it has penguins dressed as Christmas characters.
