Primark Fake Nails

On a recent trip to Primark I picked up a pack of fake nails for only £1, Primark had lots of different kinds mostly plain self coloured nails and classic French nails but I really liked the stripes so I thought for £1 they were worth a try. In the pack you get a set of 24 fake nails and the glue for the applying them.

I was surprised by how short the nails were they really don't have much length and are about the size of my nails normally before I let them grow. They are a my nails but better style and surprisingly strong for only being £1 I thought they were going to be rather flimsy but they aren't. When it came to putting the nails on I found the right size for each nail and found the smaller size was the best fit then I used my Elegant Touch Brush On Nail Glue to set the nails in place. The reason I didn't use the glue provided is because they usually are rubbish and because of the nib it can get clogged up unlike the Elegant Touch one as you just brush that on like a nail polish.

Overall they are great I really like the nails they fit well, feel good on and look really nice, I wish they were slightly longer but I think they are great for everyday wear. I got about 1 - 2 days wear out of them before one pung off but it was easily reapplied and I've had them on for a week since and painted over them, they really are great.  I'd definitely be using more of Primarks fake nails in the future, have you ever used Primarks fake nails?

A Cold Spring Day

Jacket - George at Asda
Top - Primark (old season)
Jeans - Topshop
Necklace- Primark
Bag - H&M
Boots - New Look
Nails - Primark

You know what its like outside is bright and looking spring like so you dress for a spring day get two minuets out the door and its bloody freezing well that's what happens to me and that's exactly what happened this day. I wore this a week or so back when I went out for breakfast with my sister (thanks for taking the photos sis) we went to Frankie and Bennys and for once I didn't have pancakes instead I had the lighter breakfast and it was delicious.

When I got up in the morning it looked like such a lovely spring day so I decided to wear my mint green coat from George at Asda, I picked it up at the start of the year as I really liked the style it's collarless and a nice weight not heavy but not overly light. I paired it with my ripped Jamie jeans from Topshop and an old laser cut top from Primark that I love. I kept the accessories simple with just a gold circle necklace from Primark it was only £1.50 and I really like it, my bag is from H&M I love the shape of it and I like that its huge but structured it keeps all my things secure without my bag looking overly full and lumpy. The boots are from New Look and have not been off my feet since I got them from my birthday last October the heel is the perfect day size and they are super comfy.

Clinton Cards Candle

Not so long ago Clinton Cards released their own range of own candles that boast a range of scents all reasonably priced at £10. The candles come housed in a clear glass jar that share an uncanny resemblance to Yankee Candles. I picked up the Papaya Mango candle because I loved the tropical smell that it has, it smells just like my old favourite papaya Body Shop Lip Butter. The large candle has a burn time of up to 100 hours and the scent is strong and true to what it claims. The range of scents include Vanilla Cinnamon Creme Brulee which is a dupe for Yankee Salted Caramel and Lavender which smells just like Yankees Lemon Lavender

In comparison to the large Yankee Candle the Clinton Cards one is almost half the price but the Yankee Candle has a longer burn time of up to 150 hours. I do think the Yankee Candles are slightly better quality but the Clinton Cards own brand is nothing to be sniffed at, it's a more budget friendly alternative. These are great for your bedroom or around the house and would make a lovely gift, you can shop the full range of Clinton Cards Occasion Candles here or even better go into store and have a sniff for yourself.

The Poundland Nail Polish

Poundland beauty products? SAY WHAT! Not that long ago Poundland launched a range of beauty products. I wasn't overly bothered or intrigued by the launch but after hearing good reviews on the nail polish my mum picked up a few to try and was singing their praises so I had to give them a try.
There is such a great colour range available in these nail polishes, you name it they've got it. Pinks, purples, reds, corals, orange, blues and blacks as well as glitter and topcoats. The nail polishes come packaged in a clear cylinder bottle with a black lid similar to the Maybelline Colour Show nail polishes. They certainly don't look like they cost only £1 but are they any good?

Yes! Yes they are for a pound the quality is excellent and I was pleasantly surprised. The formula is great it applies evenly and leaves a great colour on the nails. With one sweep across the nail you get an opaque finish but it looks better with two coats.  Pictured above are three nail polishes from the range; Latte, Parma Violet and a clear top coat. Latte is a nude brown shade, Parma Violet is a pretty pastely purple and well the clear top coat is just that. The brush is a good size it fits nicely on the nail and is easy to work the polish over the nail once applied the polish dries relatively fast and leaves a glossy shine.

It's not the most long lasting nail polish you can get a couple of days wear out of it before it chips but that's a small niggle and the same can be said about polishes a lot more expensive. Overall they are great value for money and well worth picking up. For £1 you can't go wrong!

Mini Beauty Haul

When pay day came I went on a mini beauty haul to pick up a few bits and pieces inspired by spring I picked up some new bits and bobs and some old favourites. Firstly I picked up these two gorgeous nail polishes while in ASDA, I don't understand how people can go to a supermarket and just get food the first things I put in my trolly were two Disney DVDs, a hair oil and these nail polishes. Anyway back to the nail varnishes they are part of Rita Oras new range for Rimmel and are inspired by festivals

Next up I went to Superdrug on the hunt for an old favourite the MUA Lipstick in shade 11 and I got the last one! I had the lipstick a few years ago and absolutely loved it but seem to have lost or misplaced it, this lipstick is a gorgeous orangey brown nude it's pigmentation is great and it has a satiny slightly glossy finish but you can dap that off and it looks just as good. Also from Superdrug I picked duo the MUA Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighting Powder in Iridescent Gold £3 now it looks really yellow in the compact but it's actually not however it is very shimmery so I like to tap off the excess and then wipe it on the back of my hand before I apply it.

Lastly I went in to Boots and they had 3 for 2 on makeup YES! So I had to buy something but I didn't go too wild. I bought the new L'Oreal Infallible 24 Hour Matte Foundation £7.99 because I'd been wanting to try it since it came out, I've got a post about it coming on my blog soon. I also picked up a new Maybelline The Falsies Mascara £7.99 because my one has dried out and last but not least I picked up the new shade 'Don't Pink Of It' Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick £8.99 it's a cool toned pink matte lipstick.

10 For £10 Or Under: Drugstore Beauty Products

Sometimes you don't want to pay an eye watering amount on makeup and I don't blame you. Some of us don't have a high end department store near us, yup no MAC or Nars near me ladies and sometimes the high street products are just as good. I went through my huge makeup collection and picked out my favourite pieces that are all £10 or under.

Bourjois 123Perfect CC Cream £9.99 I love this CC cream and have talked about it lots on my blog. I discovered it last summer and have loved it since first use. The CC cream has 3 colour correcting pigments apricot for anti-fatigue, green of anti-redness and white for anti age spots. It's lightweight and blends in like a dream giving you a fresh, flawless luminous complexion.

Revlon ColourBurst Lip Butter £7.99 these lipsticks are moisturising and have a finish similar to a lip balm. These lipsticks give a pop of colour with a lot of shine, the only slight downside is they don't last that long. Pink Truffle is my favourite shade it looks great all year round but especially in summer with a dewy natural base.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer £4.19 I couldn't not mention this concealer could I? it's so creamy and buildable. It works a treat on blemishes, redness and spots without being cakey.

Maybelline The Falsies Mascara £7.99 the ultimate drugstore mascara and it's only £7.99 this rivals high end mascara in my opinion. If you want volume, length and curl this is for you my lashes instantly look fuller and longer when I use this mascara, it's everything I want in a mascara.

MaxFactor Creme Puff Blush £8.99 these blushes are beautiful. They are multi-tonal with a hint of shimmer they blend easily and the colour is buildable if you want a stronger finish. One sweep over your cheeks gives a gorgeous flush of colour. I have the shade Alluring Rose which is a coraly bronzy shade

Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer £7.99 is a great under eye concealer I like it as it's going a yellow undertone that suits my skin tone. This concealer hides dark circles and brightens under my eyes, the foam applicator fits nicely under the eye and the concealer blends really well as it's so creamy.

Soap & Glory Archery Brow Tint and Pencil £10 this has fast become my new brow holy grail product it's double ended with one side a brow tint and the other a brow pencil. The nib for the tint makes it easy to fill in the gaps with light strokes making them look fuller and more defined and the pencil makes it easy to give them shape. I really love this product.

Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hour Cream Gel Eye Shadow £4.99 these little pots pack a punch and come in a variety of shades. These gel eye shadows blend really well and the colour payoff is great and lost lasting without creasing like some eye shadows. The quality of these eye shadows are great and are a bargain at under £5.

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick £8.99 there was a lot of hype on these lipsticks last year but I only recently got into them and they are completely worth the hype. They have a velvety creamy consistency when first applied but dry on the lips leaving a matte finish that isn't drying. The colour payoff is amazing it's bright, vibrant and extremely long lasting it seriously does not budge.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation £9.99 you probably know all about this foundation since almost everyone loves it. The Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation gives a healthy radiant finish leaving your skin glowing with a luminous finish. The foundation gives medium coverage hiding blemishes and redness but is buildable if you want to build it up.

What are your favourite drugstore products?
